The Back Story
A few weeks ago I got together with a good friend Andrew Raible. About 5-6 year ago he and his then wife came to Kathmandu on their honeymoon and fell in love with the place and decided to set up an orphanage. Over coffee, he told me that he was now building schools since the 2015 earthquake took out so many. And I thought what better way to help than from the ground up and by building schools and educating kids he was trying to address, in many ways is the core of the problem with many developing countries which is a lack of access to a formal education. He asked me if I wanted to come over, as though it was like hopping on a shuttle flight to Boston. I discussed it with Kath, who was great. And Jasper was about to out of school for the summer and I thought what a great father-son adventure. It would have been a nice husband-wife adventure but Kath had to be in WI for an event. Or even father-daughter adventure but Hannah is on her own adventure in Ithaca. So here we are.
